“In simplest form, Experiential Learning means learning from experience or learning by doing".The spirit of constantly improving oneself is what defines an educationist. In this regard, it is essential for teachers to upgrade themselves, attain a set of differential skills, and improve upon practiced strategies. Getting back into gear after the summer break, Dass & Brown World School Ferozepur organised a workshop for teachers on Experiential Learning.The workshop entailed hands-on learning and saw active participation from teachers who shared their experiences and showed commendable team spirit in planning out the activities.

Life skills Program

"Life skills – as the word describes, are the abilities required to effectively deal with demands and challenges of life." Workshop on Life skills was organized at Dass & Brown World School Ferozepur for the educators to enhance their effectiveness in classroom transactions, along with equipping them with the skills required to turn children into independent thinkers, who have the capacities and competencies to learn and grow on their own terms. The workshop helped teachers in imbibing life skills in their teaching style so that children get education that adds value to their personality as a whole.

Creative Teaching Methodologies

Creative learning needs Creative teaching.

An exclusive teachers’ training workshop was organized at DBS by "Harper Collins" on Creative Teaching Methodologies. The workshop emphasized on adding creativity and fun in a classroom through use of new, innovative teaching methods and activities. Effective teaching strategies like using student-centred activities, a connection between teaching contents and real life, management of skills in class, open-ended questions, encouragement to creative thinking and use of technology and multimedia were elaborated upon by the resource person.

ROUND GLASS SESSION FOR TEACHERS

In our experience, change happens in a school only when teachers are allowed to own and drive the change. Teachers embody the culture and the purpose of a school and when properly supported and inspired, teachers will transform schools with their energy and ideas around learning. An in-service teacher training session is great for exposing teachers to new ideas, but true change in the classroom requires long-term work.

Keeping these things in mind, we organized ROUND GLASS TRAINING SESSION for teachers @ Dass & Brown World School to achieve holistic development of children by giving them tools designed by expert psychologists, for social emotional well being education, mindfulness, online assessments as well as offline intervention and monitoring and to help them achieve optimal behavioral and emotional outcome.

Workshop on Bloom's Taxonomy

Bloom's Taxonomy: A Planning Tool for Crafting Effective Learning Outcomes” was conducted at DBS for the teachers.

In this informative session the three domains of learning i.e. Cognitive, Effective and Psycho Motor were explained in depth. The session created an opportunity for the faculty members to engage and involve in a meaningful discussion and explore the possible applications of Bloom’s Taxonomy in teaching and learning context.

Workshop on 'How to prepare students for Cambridge English Assessments'

To help both the teachers and learners further develop their skills, we offer a wide variety of seminars and training opportunities, all designed and delivered by highly qualified and experienced professionals.

A workshop was organized at Dass & Brown World School for the educators on "How to prepare students for Cambridge English Assessments" at various levels: Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET and PET. The resource person, Ms Monisha guided the teachers about classroom techniques of improving listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of the learners. It was an interactive session.

Microsoft Edu Days Event 2019

Different states !! Different Cultures !! One Mission - Instilling Empathy & Values

Microsoft Edu Days Event 2019 was organized by Microsoft for MIE Experts and the school leaders on 19th & 20th November at West-in Hotel, Gurgaon. The invitation was offered to selected MIE Experts from all over the nation.

The objective of the event was to provide professional development, opportunity & collaborate with MIE Experts and share the state of art learning and innovation practices in education by MIE Master Trainers.

They shared futuristic technologies which will drive the change and demonstrate excellence in practice by bringing in voices from the field and keynote speakers.

Dass and Brown bagged the "Special Mention Award" for providing maximum number of MIE Experts from all schools in India.

Curio Workshop

An Intensive Teacher Training session held at Dass & Brown World School by Certified Expert Trainers, Ms Monika & Ms Simran from SAY for Curio Curriculum which is a comprehensive theme based kindergarten curriculum that aims for the holistic development of the little learners.
